Knowing that nothing launches literary libidos around here like a puzzling question about grammar, can someone please explain to me the proper use of the word “myriad?” I’ve always used it like this: “Jeff has a myriad of cheapskate phobias and anxieties.” But some readers of my blog say that usage is incorrect; it should be, “Jeff has myriad cheapskate phobias and anxieties” (or at least that’s what I *think* they’re saying). It just doesn’t sound correct that way. Answers from the grammarians among us, please?
I did not find the right solution from the internet.
